Keeping Sterling Silver Clean

A rouge cloth is the simplest, gentlest, and most effective polishing tool for removing tarnish. We hardly ever recommend liquid or paste polish for silver jewelry, as many of these products are harsh and will eventually strip away silver, pitting the surface. Other cleaners simply bleach the tarnish, not remove it. A rouge cloth is treated with a material called "jeweler's rouge", which is a finely ground natural stone material that buffs off the tarnish, leaving your piece brilliantly clean. For best results, store your silver jewelry in a cool, dry place, such as in a sealed bag. This will help prevent both tarnishing and scratching by other pieces.
